The Fret House will be conducting a guitar building class starting in the fall of 08 and would like to hear from interested individuals. The class will meet once a week, on Saturday afternoon, and will be conducted by Fret House owner and Master Repairman Tom Seymour and Master Luthier and Guitar Builder Mark Geiger. It will be an 8 - 12 week course covering all aspects of building and assembling a kit guitar. Approximate cost for the class will be $1500 and will include the cost of the instrument.

  There will be two guitar kits to choose from, a slotted headstock 000 size and a Dreadnought size. Both guitars are solid wood instruments with a AAA Spruce top and a choice of rosewood or mahogany back and sides. Finished these instruments would retail between $2000 - $3000 depending on the manufacturer.

  This class will be a rare opportunity to learn guitar building and woodworking techniques from two master craftsmen and come away with a fine handcrafted instrument that you build yourself.
